Leichhardt is thrilled to announce our successful acquisition of Dampier Salt’s Lake MacLeod operation in WA’s Gascoyne region, with completion of the sale conditional on certain commercial and regulatory conditions being satisfied. Dr Paul Whittock, Principal Scientist at Pendoley Environmental, spent 14 days aboard the “Jilly B” routinely surveying North-East and South-West Regnard Islands, Steamboat Island and beaches to the east of Cape Preston aiming to capture adult track census data to estimate the nesting abundance.

This survey is the third of the 2022/23 marine turtle breeding season for Leichhardt and was designed to target the peak of the flatback and green turtle hatching period over 14 days to collect data on hatchling orientation.
