Major contract with BG&E Resources for BFS

Leichhardt Industrials Group Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the award of a multimillion-dollar contract to BG&E Resources, to undertake a Bankable Feasibility Study into the Eramurra Solar Salt Project.

The Feasibility Study has a completion target of April 2023.

The contract award follows the completion by BG&E Resources of a series of Preliminary Engineering and Trade-off Studies, which have facilitated scope definition for the project.

BG&E Resources have assembled a strong team of engineers and designers with extensive experience in the development of solar salt fields.

Concurrently, Leichhardt has progressed the collection of key input data (topography, bathymetry, geotechnical and metocean) as well as progressing Environmental and Heritage Studies.

The project plans to submit the Environmental Review Document, representing the compilation of more than 40 discrete studies in Q3/Q4 2022.

Leichhardt anticipates the review process will take approximately 12 months, with Ministerial Approval in Q3/Q4 2023.

CEO Nathan Douglas said the contract award represented an acceleration in progress for the Eramurra Solar Salt Project.

“Leichhardt is looking forward to working with BG&E Resources on this next project phase,” Mr Douglas said.

“BG&E Resources understanding of the industry is unparalleled and this study will confirm the robust nature of the Eramurra Solar Salt Project.”

With no solar salt fields developed in the Pilbara region for decades, the ESSP will cement Australia’s status as the world’s biggest exporter of premium-quality salt, supplying the growing Asia-Pacific chemical markets.
