Our Eramurra Project is located 55 kilometres southwest of Karratha, Western Australia, between the points of Cape Preston to the west and 40 Mile Beach in the East.
The Pilbara coastline boasts world-class conditions for solar evaporation, characterised by some of the world’s hottest and driest coastal positions, hosting the majority of Australia’s solar salt operations.
Since securing the tenements in 2016, Leichhardt has reached several key milestones positioning us to meet the large projected Asia-Pacific market supply deficit. This includes the grant of Major Project (Lead Agency) Status and the transfer of Ministerial Statement 949 approving the Port of Cape Preston East and Leichhardt as the preferred proponent.
A prefeasibility study targeting a 5.3Mtpa production rate was completed in December 2022 indicating strong project economics. The submission of our Environmental Review Document to the Environmental Protection Agency in December 2023 further paves the way to building an environmentally and socially sustainable operation.
